Putin backs Ankara-Moscow S-400 sales negotiations

Negotiations are under way between Ankara and Moscow for the supply of S-400 air defence missile systems to the Turkish Armed Forces, Russian state-controlled media have reported. Speaking on 1 June, President Vladimir Putin said, "We discussed the possibility of selling the S-400 systems. We are ready to do this. Turkish President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan is aware of this. Our military is aware of this and the Turkish military, too."
