Cochin linked with move to buy major stake in ABG Shipyard

Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) -constructor of the Indian Navy's Project 71 Indigenous Aircraft Carrier-1 (IAC-1) - is reportedly in talks to acquire debt-ridden naval shipbuilder ABG Shipyard. Business newspaper Livemint reported on 6 February that CSL, which is owned by the Indian Ministry of Shipping, had commenced preliminary discussions with Mumbai-based ABG about purchasing a controlling stake in the company.
