UK expansion: stuck on the runway

Recent political developments in the UK will have a direct bearing on the future direction of the major airports in the country. The Conservative-Liberal coalition released its programme for government in mid-May, including a commitment not to build extra runway capacity at major London hubs Heathrow, Gatwick and Stan-sted. Heathrow will also not receive a sixth passenger terminal.
