Europe still stuck on runway in global small cells market

What have been the major developments in the small cell market in western Europe during the past 12 months? Julian Bright, Senior Analyst, Intelligent Networks, Ovum: Europe is yet to see any large scale small cell commitments on a par with other regions (e.g. the US, China, India), either in terms of trials or commercial deployments. Broadly speaking, deployments are still largely driven by coverage not capacity, and therefore don't require the same deployment scale. Small cells are also just one option for mobile operators, with cell splitting, turning on new spectrum, and adding sectors to existing base stations being other options.
