Inauguration of the President of the United States

The presidential inauguration is a complex event involving multiple agencies and jurisdictions. Though unique, the event offers some common lessons learned for jurisdictions and agencies that are responsible for hosting large events involving multiple agencies. These are summarized in Figure 4. Large-scale special events put the spotlight on the jurisdiction and event organizers and provide a unique opportunity for them to shine.
