The inauguration of Donald Trump as President of the United States of America has caused a number of commentators to speculate in the media about his policy with regard to the Middle East. Much of the conjecture has concentrated on two areas: his relationship with Mr Putin, and what form US action against ISIS will take. In the context of the Middle East, there has also been mention of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), passed by the US Senate on 17 May 2016; overriding a veto from President Obama.
