The Calder Valley is a west-east orientated Pennine valley located in West Yorkshire in the north of England, UK, with the valley situated entirely within the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale. It is often regarded as the birthplace of the industrial revolution as it is home to many steeply falling streams which were used to power the early textile mills making fustian, a hardwearing cloth made from wool.
