A lease on the Rhine

The inland port of Strasbourg (PAS), an inland gateway in Alsace, in eastern France, has set the points for the new company Lauterbourg Rhine Terminal to start operations this year. From September onwards the corporate alliance will manage and run a new multimodal terminal in Lauterbourg, on the Rhine. Ever-growing box volumes on the river Rhine prompted PAS to look to the Lauterbourg location from early on. Operations in a new container terminal were al-ready launched late in 2018, when another facility that is managed by Rhine Europe Terminals started offering services there. Now the new company Lauterbourg Rhine Terminal is also entering the transport fray from there.
