EUR 6.3 billion for rail

The Polish government has announced plans to invest approximately EUR 6.3 billion in the country's railway infrastructure over the next six years. The funds have been earmarked both for expansion measures as well as maintenance and modernisation work. Deputy infrastructure minister Andrzej Bittel was quoted as saying that "the programme enables long-term investment planning and will improve the network all round."
