UK - Stevia-based light sugar launched by Tate & Lyle Sugars

Stevia, the plant-based intense sweetener that received EU approval last month is being blended with cane sugar, both white and brown, by Tate & Lyle Sugars and launched as Light at Heart. The product is claimed by the company to be twice as sweet as regular sugar, thereby fostering the reduction in the overall consumption of sugar. Light at Heart is available in 450g tubs in white and brown sugar with recommended retail price (RRP) of £2.19 (US$3.40) and £2.49 respectively.
