Roquette and BRAIN Group partner to produce protein sweetener brazzein at commercial scale

The biotech company BRAIN AG, the natural product specialist AnalytiCon Discovery (a BRAIN Group company) and specialty food ingredients and pharmaceutical excipients producer Roquette are partnering to produce the protein sweetener brazzein at commercial scale having successfully completed the R&D phase.Brazzein is a protein sweetener which is naturally found in African berries Pentadiplandra brazzeana Baillon. This high-intensive sweetener provides both taste profile and sugar-free functionality. The target market is primarily the beverage industry.
