The European Marketing Academy (EMAC) and the International Journal of Research in Marketing (1JRM) established in 2008 the Jan-Benedict Steenkamp Award for Long-Term Impact. The award, named after Jan-Benedict E.M. Steenkamp, currently Knox Massey Distinguished Professor of Marketing and Area Chair of Marketing at the Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina, is being given annually to the most exceptional contribution in academic marketing research, published in 1JRM, which have demonstrated long-term impact.
