摘要

Recently, the attempt to decrease greenhouse gases, noxious gases and utilized energy sources has emerged as a crucial issue in the world to manage problems of global warming, resource depletion and air pollution. Institutes, universities and industries related to transport vehicles have endeavored to solve these crucial problems through the reduction of the overall weight of transport vehicles. However, the weight reduction of components of transport vehicles greatly affects the strength, the stiffness and the energy absorption of transport vehicles. Metallic sandwich plates with periodically repeated metallic inner structures (PRAM) have been introduced to meet these conflicting demands. This paper reviews recent research trends of metallic sandwich plates with PRMIS in terms of design, manufacturing and formability. This paper is focused on a single layer PRAM. Key technologies and the state-of-the art related to design, manufacturing and formability of metallic sandwich plates with PRMIS are discussed. In addition, future research issues of metallic sandwich plates with PRMIS are described
