摘要

The generalized Kanban control mechanism is developed under the assumption that external demand for finished product of a production system is very largely known as saturated condition. In the present paper, Generalized Kanban Control unsaturated finite capacitated Multi-Stage Production of serial type (GKCMP) system has been considered with uncertainties in external demand and processing times. A decomposition model for Continuous Time Markov Chain (CTMC) type is developed for evaluating the performance measures, namely, fill rate, average inventory and throughput. It is observed that when number of stages in the system is only two, allocation of one Kanban at the most upstream stage and remaining Kanbans at the downstream stage with given number of Kanbans would yield maximum fill rate with minimum average inventory. While in more than two stage system, Kanban allocation problem is identified as combinatorial problem for the specified criteria.
