摘要

To optimize the traffic signal control of isolatedrnintersections, a hybrid colored Petri net is proposed to modelrnthe urban signalized intersection, which consists of a trafficrnsignal control module and a traffic flow module. Furthermore,rna new feedback-based signal control method based on thernPetri net model is presented. The method performs an onlinernoptimization and synchronization of traffic signals. Afterrnfinishing the minimum green time of current phase, whetherrnextending the current phase’s green time is determined byrncomparing a performance index of the current phase withrnthe candidate phases. The performance index is based on thernnumber of queued vehicles and the red time of candidaternphases. Finally, experiments on field data are carried outrnagainst the fixed time-of-day control strategy to compare theirrnperformances on average vehicle delay. Results verified thernfeasibility of the Petri net model and the effectiveness of thernproposed method.
