Library Management 101

In Library Management 101: A Practical Guide, editor Diane L. Velasquez, programme director of the Library and Information Management and Business Management programmes and lecturer at the University of South Australia, created a book specifically geared towards information professionals. She notes that many ALA-accredited library science schools do not require management courses; when they do, appropriate materials are scarce, causing instructors to use a myriad of resources from outside the profession. In response to the educational need, Velasquez edited a broadly focused management book with the intent to inform future academic and public library leaders.
