BC Hydro has reported low inflows in its reservoir going into the winter and overall flows for the year forecast to be down by almost 20 per cent on average to give the second lowest contribution in 50 years. BC Hydro experienced low water inflows to its reservoirs in 2010, as reported in the results for the second quarter to 30 September 2010. Inflows were 23 per cent below the historical average and placed its storage at historically low levels entering the winter period. The utility noted that the reduced water level also put 'upward pressure' on rates for customers.
