摘要

Using the conceptual approach of distributed cognition and cognitive flexibility theories, we will analyse a multi-cultural learning context during one semester. Within a semester - with the introduction of an innovative, distributed, problem-based learning technology - preservice teachers located in different countries will interact, communicate and collaborate to solve common projects. We will focus on the possible changes, evolution or transformation of activated cognitive skills while interacting with distant pairs through cognitive tools implemented in distributed, problem-solving situations. We will assume that argumentation and negotiation are the meeting and interaction points between several subjects supporting diverse beliefs and knowledge. Also, we will observe students at different stages of the resolution process, ranging from those who have made substantial progress towards integrating new dimensions into their ongoing collaborative work, to those who made little or no progress.
