Education in India during the last two decades witnessed lot of changes, and had helped the literacy rate of the country to improve. There has been modifications in the quality of the content delivered in the primary and higher education which has contributed to the people's intellectual capital. But this paramount trend was observed only after the invasion of technology into this education sector. The most predominant technology that had helped the education to improve globally has been attributed to 'Computer'. Seeking information and an effective communication tool is considered to be the most important factors that govern a good education. These two factors have been well facilitated by two communication tools viz., computer and Internet. When we scan the global record of quality education, it is pertinent that innovations in Information, Communication and Computer Technology had played the most important role in the development of human capital. If one observes the quality of education in rural areas of developing countries and under developed countries, ICT is the major backing for these improvements. The main objective of the present study is to trace the various researches that have been done in this important area and to consolidate it as a report to find the reality in the selected countries. Hence this paper is an attempt to survey the various literatures available on this all important issue. A total of 26 research papers were thoroughly scanned and had been reported in this paper. The major findings from the survey are that higher percentage of growth in education sector of most countries was only due to advent of computers and penetration of internet in the rural areas.
