John deere braved the US debt markets alone on Tuesday, finding constructive issuance conditions for a new equipment lease ABS deal, even as another global rout in stocks set off more volatility. The company shrugged off weakness in US bonds and a sharp fall in equities to raise US$751m from its delayed deal, which seemed to sail through without much drama. In fact the issuer was able to tighten spreads on the various tranches from the levels they were guided at on Monday. The trade, of which US$228m was retained, was postponed last week as global markets were whipsawed by turmoil in Chinese equities.
