Ink-cartridge chip-maker apex technology has signed four loans totalling US$2.7bn for its US$3.6bn all-cash takeover of US printer and imaging solutions provider Lexmark International. Apex has drawn down on two of the loans - a US$900m three-year facility for its Cayman Islands-registered special-purpose vehicle Ninestar Group and a US$1.18bn seven-year loan for a Delaware-based SPV Ninestar Lexmark. Apex and its subsidiaries are the guarantors on both loans, which also carry security in the form of assets of Lexmark and its major subsidiaries.
