In a quest to diversify away from Chinese credits and weather a general slowdown in deal flow, lenders from Taiwan are eyeing more structured and leveraged loans from other parts of Asia. A clutch of heavyweight Taiwanese banks are leading a couple of leveraged buyout loans in Hong Kong that promise higher returns than those on offer from plain-vanilla financings of high-grade and repeat borrowers elsewhere.
