Finance ministers and central bank governors from the G20 group of leading nations are to discuss giving their backing to GDP-linked bonds when they next meet later this month in Chengdu. China is the current president of the G20 and is using its term to promote Green bonds. Last week, state lender bank of china issued the world's biggest ever Green bond - a three-tranche effort in US dollars, euros and offshore renminbi, which raised the equivalent of US$3.03bn (see p10).
