Russian assets weaken after further US sanctions

Russian assets were on the back foot after the US government announced further sanctions following the State Department's finding that Moscow violated international law in a chemical attack on a Russian spy and his daughter in the UK earlier this year. The rouble sold off more than 5% against the US dollar last week to hit its lowest level since November 2016, with analysts expecting further falls.
