CHAILEASE BERJAYA CREDIT, the Malaysian unit of Taiwan leasing giant Chailease Holding, has launched its debut offshore loan of US$100m, which follows close on the heels of a smaller ringgit loan completed two months ago. Mega International Commercial Bank is the mandated lead arranger and bookrunner of the latest three-year loan, which pays an interest margin of 160bp over Libor. MLAs committing US$20m or above will receive an upfront fee of 22.5bp, while managers taking US$15m-$19m earn 15bp. Funds are for general corporate purposes. In March, the borrower raised a M$300m (US$73m) five-year financing. Incorporated in 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Chailease Berjaya Credit is a joint venture between Chailease International (Malaysia) and Berjaya Capital. The company finances passenger cars and motorcycles and also provides personal finance and insurance brokerage services.
