Goldman Sachs is providing a US$1.6bn bridge loan to support software company tyler technologies' approximately US$2.3bn acquisition of payments company NIC. Tyler plans to fund the balance using about US$700m in cash. The bridge loan is anticipated to be taken out prior to the transaction's close, which is expected in the second quarter. Tyler will pay NIC stockholders US$34 per share in cash, representing a premium of approximately 22% to NIC's 30-day volume weighted average price as of Tuesday.
