Virus continues to plague APAC lending

Syndicated lending in Asia-Pacific slumped to the slowest first three quarters in eight years as the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing geopolitical tensions between the US and China continued to plague sentiment. Loan volumes in Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) dropped 15% to US$298.17bn in the first nine months from US$351.43bn a year earlier, while deal flow shrunk to 910 from 1,034 loans completed in the same period, according to Refinitiv LPC data.
