US LNG export projects continue to face new setbacks created by the coronavirus pandemic and its economic fallout,with companies large and small rethinking or delaying their investment plans.Meanwhile,pre-existing opponents to the LNG build-out stepped up their assault.In arguably the biggest development of the past week,Royal Dutch Shell said it is exiting the proposed Lake Charles LNG export terminal in Louisiana.乭Whilst we continue to believe in the long-term viability and advantages of the project,the time is not right for Shell to invest,乭Maarten Wetselaar,Shell乫s head of Integrated Gas and New Energies,said in a statement.The company乫s 50% stake in the project will transition to 50% partner Energy Transfer,giving it sole ownership.
