LAST-MINUTE RESERVATIONS Airbnb is once again expected to file the paperwork for an IPO after the home rental platform had a last-minute change of heart last week. The company had originally planned to file its S-l registration statement last Thursday but decided to delay due to concerns that the fallout from the US presidential election might drown out coverage of the IPO. But the pressure is on to file soon. After this, there are only three full working weeks before year-end. And the conditions for raising money could hardly be better after the market was given a shot in the arm by the recent vaccine news. Airbnb has already had to take out a US$1bn emergency loan during the pandemic. An IPO will give it a bit of financial breathing space to get through the remainder.
