The good news for investment banks is that after four consecutive weak quarters, the year-on-year comparisons start getting easier. A lot easier. The bad news is that four quarters are no longer a blip, and suggests the decline in trading, M&A advisory and debt and equity underwriting revenues isn't cyclical, but structural.
