Evercore slashes workforce by 6%

EVERCORE is cutting staff by 6% this quarter in response to difficult financial conditions in 2019, although rival LAZARD said it got its mojo back in the final quarter of last year. Evercore slowed down in the fourth quarter after dominating its independent rivals in M&A advisory and some larger banks for most of 2019.
