Banks quake as Facebook targets payments

facebook's plans to create a new international currency and disrupt existing payment systems and the stranglehold of banks have been met mostly with strong resistance by financial regulators and central bankers. Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of England, said it approached the Libra proposal "with an open mind but not an open door".
