Taxes from cannabis sales have overtaken alcohol taxes in three US states where the substance has been legalised, fuelling hopes that a municipal bond market backed by such revenues could light up before long. In one of the states - Colorado - cannabis tax revenues now exceed taxes from tobacco as well, according to research by Barclays. The other two states reaping significant cannabis tax income are Washington and Nevada.
