摘要

Aurelius Capital Management is suing Argentina again, this time over alleged nonpayment on the country's GDP warrants. In a complaint filed last week with the US Southern District Court in New York, the hedge fund said Argentina still owes it a 2013 US$83.7m payment on the growth-linked instruments. "Argentina breached its contractual obligations by failing to pay such amount when due in accordance with the terms of the GDP warrants," the complaint said. That was during the previous administration of former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, whose government was accused of manipulating economic data for its benefit. The current government made efforts to correct this after taking power in late 2015. It also announced intentions to buy back the warrants but this plan never materialised. Officials at the ministry of finance did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
