Joint Epilepsy Council of Australia A Unified Voice for Epilepsy in Australia

Last September seven autonomous community-based epilepsy organisations in Australia came together to form the Joint Epilepsy Council of Australia (JECA). This was a terrific achievement and followed on more than two years of negotiation and discussion between the various groups involved. Much credit in reaching this point must go to the Epilepsy Society of Australia (Australian ILAE chapter), and to Professor Sam Berkovic in particular, who facilitated discussions and helped bring the seven organisations together.
