摘要

Nairobi-Uganda has lost about one-third of its forests in the last two decades and could lose the rest in the next 40 years, the country's National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) warned in a report released June 18.rnAccording to the State of Environment Report for Uganda 2008, in 1990 the country had more than 12 million acres of forest. By 2005 only 8.6 million acres of tree cover remained. During the same period, about 10 percent of Uganda's wetlands also were destroyed.
