China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Nov. 13 issued for public comment a catalog of substances that can be used as possible substitutes for toxic and hazardous raw materials, including heavy metals, pesticides, and other chemical products. The catalog contains three categories: substitutes in the research and development stage, those that have been developed but are not widely used, and those that have been widely used.
