Brazil Simplifies Environmental Approvals For Interstate Transport of Hazardous Goods

Brazil has simplified the process of obtaining environmental authorization for the interstate transport of hazardous goods through a measure (No. 5/2012) issued by the Environment Ministry's licensing and enforcement arm (IBAMA). The measure helps to implement a December federal law (No. 140/2011) defining whether federal, state, or municipal environmental agencies will handle licensing of activities with significant environmental impact.
