摘要

Reports finding that China's export restrictions on rare earths, tungsten and molybdenum violated the country's World Trade Organization obligations were adopted by the WTO's Dispute Settlement Body Aug. 29, forcing China to now bring its practices in line with WTO obligations or face the threat of retaliatory trade measures. The U.S., Japan and the EU-the parties that brought the complaint against China-welcomed the adoption of the reports. The U.S. delegate urged China to implement the Dispute Settlement Body's recommendations to bring its measures into WTO compliance for the sake of global growth and prosperity, saying all WTO members are bound together through a global interdependence in the trade of raw materials like the minerals at issue.
