China Aims for 90 Gigawatts of Installed Wind Power Capacity by End of 2014

Officials from China's National Energy Administration (NEA) said they expect the country to have some 90 gigawatts of wind power installed on the electrical grid by the end of 2014, an increase of 13 gigawatts (17 percent) from 2013 figures. China had about 77.16 gigawatts of installed wind power capacity at the end of 2013, an increase of 14.49 gigawatts (23 percent) from 2012, according to statements at a Beijing news conference Feb. 25.
