摘要

On February 7,2011 the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) announced the launch of a review of the Feed-in Tariff ("FIT"), less than a year after the FIT scheme was first introduced. The full implications of the review are not clear at this stage, but it is likely that the review will result in some of the FIT payment rates being reduced and/or changes to the types of projects that are eligible for the FIT. The Energy Secretary, Chris Huhne, has expressed concern about the impact of "super-size solar installations". It is claimed that the prospect of large scale solar photovoltaic (PV) projects under the FIT scheme was not fully anticipated in the original scheme and could, according to Chris Huhne, take a disproportionate amount of available funding or even break the cap on total funding.
