I am picking a forecast for China's real GDP growth of 5-8 percent, but I emphasize that my choice is more a "pick" than a "forecast." Since much of China's economy is still centrally controlled and we do notrnknow much about the size or nature of the Chinese government's stimulus proposal, or even how they account for GDP growth, we can really only guess that country's growth potential. The only part of China's GDP estimate with some certainty attached is the pending decline in demand for China's exports due to the world global slowdown.
