In the third edition of China and Globalisation, Doug Guthrie covers a wide range of issues in his comprehensive overview of China's post-Mao transformation. Many of these, especially those involving big firms, where the author has had personal exchanges and interviews, are insightful and revealing. Other times, when generalisations are made about society as a whole, the argument can be less persuasive.
