31-year-old Srecko Klanjac, a civil engineer who studied in Aachen, set up in business in March 1995 as Klanjac & Peters GmbH & Co. KG, based in Duren-Kreuzau, Gemany. Inside a year he was an established name in the construction industry in and around Aachen/Cologne. The parents of Srecko Klanjac arrived in the country from the then Yugoslavia, back in 1958. "Without the backing of my family and our committed 14-strong workforce, we would never have established ourselves so quickly," says Srecko Klanjac, who recognises his good luck. Now his wife takes care of the administration while his father, Milan Klanjac, acts as resident engineer on site. Much in demand, the new company is particularly active in sewer construction and maintenance work.
