A Nordberg track-mounted mobile crushing plant is helping one of the largest aggregates producers in Florida to meet the US state's recent surge in demand for high quality aggregates. The 60t Lokotrack 1315 is processing up to 30,000t per week of lime rock, a highly porous oolitic limestone, at CSR Rinker's Rinker Lake Quarry in Dade County. Rinker Lake is only a short drive from the Sunshine State's busy tourist centres of Miami and Fort Lauderdale. It is, nevertheless, at the heart of one of the largest concentrations of quarry rock production in North America. In 1995 over 30mil.t of limestone were extracted from an area of no more than 100km~2. The majority of material is extracted by just three companies: Tarmac, White Rock and CSR Rinker, the latter being part of the Australian-based CSR group.
