SNC-Lavalin to acquire Kentz

Canadian contractor SNC-Lavalin has reached an agreement to acquire UK-based oil & gas engineering services Group Kentz for UK£ 1.2 billion (US$ 2 billion). The deal has been approved by the Kentz board. Kentz has 14,500 employees and operates in 36 countries around the world. The acquisition would increase SNC-Lavalin's headcount to some 44,500 employees, 18,500 of whom will be in the oil & gas division.
