Arrius-equipped Ka-226T among the best in class for safety and emissions

Russia's Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise (KumAPE) has completed tests of a Ka-226T fitted with Turbomeca engines. The model uses French Arrius 2G turboshafts and a Russian VR-226N gearbox. This is the first time an Arrius 2G is installed on a coaxial helicopter. Unprecedented safety is achieved even with one engine out, with up to 750 hp available for maneuvering.
