摘要

The topic of board gender diversity and firm performance has attracted a lot of attention from both scholars and researchers with mixed research findings. This article provides a descriptive analysis of board gender diversity and firm performance in Zimbabwe. It has been noted that even though Sections 17 and 56 of the Zimbabwean Constitution stipulates that there should be equal representation of gender at every sector of society, nothing much has been realized towards gender parity in corporate boards. To address this problem, the study provides a critical descriptive analysis that is helpful in addressing gender disparity that exists in many corporate boards. Existing statistics was used in this analysis. Data was collected from 58 Zimbabwe Stock Exchange listed corporates as of June 2018. This article is of significance to policy-makers, researchers, private sector and the academia.
