The U.S. Supreme Court has refused the Federal Trade Commission's request to review a lower court's ruling dismissing its antitrust lawsuit against computer memory chip maker Rambus Inc. Federal Trade Commission v. Rambus Inc., No. 08-694, cert, denied (U.S. Feb. 23,2009). The decision ends the FTC's antitrust lawsuit alleging the company slipped its patented technology into a developing industry standard for PC memory. The case began when the FTC filed an administrative complaint charging Rambus with deceiving a technology standard-setting group.
