Smart Wrist-worn Device for Monitoring Atrial Fibrillation

According to the US Government, atrial fibrillation remains the most common type of cardiac arrhythmia which affects an approximate 9% of people over 65 years of age. Smart wrist bands are used as popular fashion gadgets for monitoring the heart rate and physical activity for effective management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, and obesity to name some. Most of the wearable devices that are available today in the commercial market do not provide reliable data about these conditions.
